Welcome back to The Raceway at Western Fair District in London, Ontario for Wednesday night live standardbred racing! Tonight’s card features 10 races with a first post of 5:50 PM ET and racing expected to run through approximately 10:00 PM ET.

Wednesday nights at Western Fair are always action-packed and tonight is no exception. We have a deep 10-race card mixing pace and trot action across all class levels — from a wide-open Claiming $8,000 pace for fillies and mares in Race 6 all the way up to the $8,800 feature conditions in Races 1, 3, and 7. Tonight’s card also includes two trot races in Races 8 and 10, giving handicappers a chance to mix it up across both gaits.

Coming off Tuesday’s Trifecta Tuesday card, the hot connections remain the same. Trainer Rachel Andrew (.421 win rate) fires two live entries tonight in Races 1 and 7. Trainer Mike Timpano (.468 win rate) saddles live horses in Races 1 and 5. Trainer Francis Guillemette (.384 win rate) is the man to follow in the trot races tonight, saddling entries in Races 8 and 10. On the driving side, Austin Sorrie (.323 win rate), Garrett Rooney (.330 win rate), and Tyler Borth (.437 UDRS) are all well-represented throughout the card.

WESTERN FAIR RACEWAY — WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22, 2026 First Post: 5:50 PM ET | London, Ontario

RACE 1 | Pace · F&M NW $25,000 Lifetime AE Clm $20,000 | Purse $8,800 Probable Favourites: 8–1–6–5

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. ANGEL OF HONOR (PP6) — 3-1 — Won back-to-back starts on April 1 and April 8 in this exact class; trainer Timpano has a scorching .468 win rate and the Borth–Timpano combo is clicking at the right time.
  2. ACEFORTYFOUR LILLY (PP5) — 4-1 — Won March 25 and has three consecutive top-3 finishes in this class; trainer Steward (.323 win rate) keeps this mare consistently ready and she owns the best class record in the field.
  3. BETTOR BELLE (PP8) — 2-1 — Won last out April 15 at 1:57.3 with a gate-to-wire performance; Sorrie (.323 win rate) is red-hot and the morning line undervalues her based on pure form.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: WOODMERE OHDOYA (PP7) — 8-1 — Won April 8 in this very class at 1:58.4 and has three top-3 finishes in her last four; trainer Hamm (.266 win rate) has her tight and at 8-1, the price doesn’t reflect the recent form.

RACE 2 | Pace · Claiming $20,000 · NW $5,000 or a Race Lifetime | Purse $7,500 Probable Favourites: 2–3–7–1

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. RYLENTLESS (PP8) — 9-5 — Best lifetime figure in the field (1:54.3) and has hit the board in 6 of 14 starts in 2026; trainer Schneider (.204 win rate) and Borth (.437 UDRS) is a combination that consistently delivers.
  2. BUZZ LIGHTYEAR (PP3) — 5-2 — 5-of-11 wins in 2026 including a solid second last out at the higher NW $45,000 level; trainer Hamm (.400 win rate) and dropping in class makes him dangerous.
  3. THE DARK LORD (PP3 if scratches move) — 3-1 — Consistent top-4 performer in this class and trainer Rankin keeps this gelding competitive every start; Moore drives well at 10% win rate.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: KERWOOD KID (PP1) — 4-1 — Won April 7 at this exact class level by open lengths with Natasha Day driving; trainer Wall (.335 win rate) is sharp and the inside post suits the front-running style at a generous price given his actual form.

RACE 3 | Pace · H&G NW $25,000 Lifetime AE Clm $20,000 | Purse $8,800 Probable Favourites: 8–3–2–1

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. BUZZ LIGHTYEAR (PP3) — 5-2 — 5 wins in 11 starts in 2026 including a sharp second last out in the NW $45,000 company; trainer Hamm (.400 win rate) drops him perfectly into a spot he can dominate.
  2. KERWOOD KID (PP1) — 4-1 — Won April 7 at this class level convincingly; trainer Wall (.335 win rate) and a rare start with Natasha Day navigating from the rail is a live angle.
  3. RYLENTLESS (PP8) — 9-5 — Class best lifetime mark (1:54.3) and consistent in-the-money form; Borth from the outside is a minor negative but the talent level is clear.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: LUCKYS BIG BOY (PP2) — 3-1 — Won March 31 wire-to-wire at this class and trainer/driver Lorne House (.242 win rate) self-trains proficiently; the 3-1 ML price is fair but his recent drop from a tougher spot and front speed make him worth including in exotics.

RACE 4 | Pace · H&G Claiming $8,000 | Purse $6,000 Probable Favourites: 4–7–5–1

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. OUTLAWGRANDETORINO (PP4) — 8-5 — Won last out April 15 at 1:57.4 in this class; trainer Stephens (.305 win rate) and Macdonell is one of the most effective claiming combinations on the meet.
  2. NO PLAN INTENDED (PP7) — 5-2 — 4 wins in 12 starts in 2026 with a sharp 1:56.1 best; trainer Gallant (.229 win rate) brings a horse who consistently runs well when fresh and the outside post is manageable with his tactical speed.
  3. LIVIN LARGE (PP1) — 4-1 — 4 wins in 12 starts in 2026 and trainer McQueen (.325 win rate) is the hottest trainer on the meet over the last 15 days; Borth from the rail is an edge.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: ST LADS MISCHIEF (PP6) — 6-1 — Won April 8 at this exact class level as a massive longshot; trainer Kennedy (.238 win rate) and Sorrie driving gives this horse a legitimate chance to repeat the upset at another generous price.

RACE 5 | Pace · F&M NW $12,500 or 2 Races Lifetime AE Clm $20,000 | Purse $8,200 Probable Favourites: 1–8–4–7

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. JAYPORT DIAMOND (PP8) — 3-1 — Won back-to-back starts including a dominant April 15 gate-to-wire effort at 2:00.1 and a qualifier; trainer/driver Horner self-trains efficiently and this filly is clearly on a roll.
  2. SEVEN SUMMERS AGO (PP1) — 8-5 — Won a Woodbine qualifier by 5½ lengths on March 27 and trainer Timpano (.468 win rate) is the hottest barn in the program; Borth from the rail is a major tactical advantage.
  3. PLAYATYOUROWNRISK (PP7) — 6-1 — Second last out at this class and won March 25 in a claiming spot; trainer Pickett (.222 win rate) and Galliers gives this filly a strong pilot from a manageable outside post.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: D A LAUGHOUTLOUD (PP4) — 4-1 — Trainer Libby (.312 win rate) has this filly freshened after a long layoff and her two qualifying efforts show she is waking up; at 4-1 with Galliers in the irons she is the best price on actual potential in the race.

RACE 6 | Pace · F&M Claiming $8,000 · NW $40,000 Lifetime or $3,500 Last 5 | Purse $5,500 Probable Favourites: 4–6–7–1

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. ALESSANDRA (PP4) — 2-1 — Trainer Andrew (.421 win rate) is the hottest trainer on the card and Sorrie from post 4 with a consistent second-place mare is the race’s safest play.
  2. LOOKMOMICANFLY (PP6) — 5-2 — Second last out April 14 and led before being caught; trainer/driver Doyle self-trains well (.229 win rate) and the closing style suits a competitive field.
  3. STOMPA (PP7) — 3-1 — Led wire-to-wire in a tougher NW $12,750 spot on April 8 before trainer Timpano (.468) scratched her; the Borth–Timpano combination is live and the 3-1 ML undervalues her gate speed.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: HONEY SO SWEET (PP3) — 9-2 — Won February 24 and has two second-place finishes in this class; trainer Sumner (.476 UTRS) keeps this mare consistently fit and Rooney from post 3 could steal this at the price if the front end collapses.

RACE 7 | Pace · H&G Claiming $20,000 · NW $62,500 Lifetime or a Race in 2026 | Purse $8,800 Probable Favourites: 1–7–4–5

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. GASCOIGNE A C (PP1) — 9-5 — 6 wins in 12 starts in 2026 with a dominant wire-to-wire record; trainer Andrew (.421 win rate) and Sorrie from the rail in a class that suits him perfectly makes this the race’s most bankable selection.
  2. DAN SPEED (PP7) — 5-2 — Second last out at 1:54.2 at Flamboro and third at Woodbine in April; trainer Guillemette (.384 win rate) and Kelly driving is a sharp combination that fires regularly.
  3. DJ MUSTANG (PP5) — 4-1 — Third last out April 1 in this class and owns a 1:54.0 lifetime figure; trainer Ratchford (.297 win rate) and Galliers driving gives this horse a capable pilot from a mid-track post.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: ALL THE CHEDDAR (PP8) — 8-1 — Won February 25 and was third last out April 15 in a stronger field; trainer Cochrane (.169 win rate) keeps this gelding fit and Doyle at 8-1 represents legitimate value if Gascoigne has traffic.

RACE 8 | Trot · NW $3,000 Last 3 or in 2026 AE Clm $15,000 | Purse $8,600 Probable Favourites: 3–5–2–1

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. RUN LIKE HILL (PP3) — 2-1 — Second last out April 8 and a consistent top-3 finisher all season; trainer Guillemette (.384 win rate) is the meet’s hottest trot trainer and Fillion (.286 win rate) gives this gelding the best pilot in the race.
  2. TOSCANO GIRL (PP6) — 6-1 — Won April 1 and March 2 in this class and trainer Price has the highest UTRS on the card at .592; Rooney driving this mare is a powerful combination that is being undervalued at 6-1.
  3. MADE OF MAGIC (PP5) — 5-2 — Won last year at Woodbine level and trainer Wall (.335 win rate) keeps this trotter fit; Borth from post 5 is a manageable spot and the lifetime earnings ($162K) suggest real class.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: TOSCANO GIRL (PP6) — 6-1 — Listed as top 3 above and best longshot in the race. Trainer Price has a .592 UTRS — the highest of any trainer on tonight’s card — and Rooney drives this mare who has won two of her last five starts in this exact class. The 6-1 price is a significant overlay based on her actual record.

RACE 9 | Pace · H&G NW $4,000 Last 3 AE Clm $15,000 AE NW $40,000 Lifetime | Purse $9,200 Probable Favourites: 5–2–6–4

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. ROSE RUN VORTEX (PP5) — 8-5 — 0-for-13 in 2026 but 5 second-place finishes in 9 starts; trainer Gallant (.373 win rate) and MacKenzie is the meet’s most underrated driver combo — this horse keeps finishing and his 1:54.3 lifetime figure towers over the field.
  2. WOODMERE DENVER (PP6) — 5-2 — Won last out April 14 at 1:56.3 and has 6 wins in 13 starts in 2026; trainer Leon (.313 win rate) and Rooney from post 6 is one of the strongest combinations on the card tonight.
  3. GEARSON (PP4) — 3-1 — Won last out April 15 at 1:57.3 and won two starts back at Flamboro; trainer Kingshott (.266 win rate) has this horse firing and the Louis Gregg–Kingshott combo is live at a fair price.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: LASER (PP7) — 10-1 — 3 wins in 8 starts in 2026 including a dominant wire-to-wire April 16 qualifier; trainer Schneider (.204 win rate) and Galliers driving a horse who won 3 of his last 4 starts before a scratch is a prime upset candidate at a double-digit price.

RACE 10 | Trot · NW $1,500 Last 3 AE Clm $9,500 | Purse $6,500 Probable Favourites: 7–2–4–1

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. MORALLY FLEXIBLE (PP7) — 8-5 — 5 wins in 13 starts in 2026 including back-to-back wins April 3 and April 10; trainer Guillemette (.384 win rate) and Fillion is the top trot combination in the program and this is a clear drop in class.
  2. PIER HO EMERALD (PP2) — 5-2 — 2 wins in 8 starts in 2026 and a sharp qualifying effort at Woodbine in January; trainer Carther (.225 win rate) and Macdonell gives this mare a competent pilot and the class drop from NW $50,000 to this level is a significant edge.
  3. THE LIONKING AS (PP4) — 3-1 — 3 second-place finishes in 10 starts in 2026 and trainer Hamlin (.194 win rate) keeps this veteran fit; was a close second March 27 in this class and the inside post is an asset.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: TEASIN (PP7 if Morally Flexible moves) — 9-2 — Won March 13 and was third March 30 in stronger company; trainer Wall (.335 win rate) keeps both trotters in this race razor sharp and at 9-2 the price exceeds what the form warrants. Note: if post positions shift due to scratches, confirm program number with the track.
