6 min read

Welcome to Trifecta Tuesday at The Raceway at Western Fair District in London, Ontario! Tonight’s card features 10 races of standardbred pace racing with a first post of 5:50 PM ET and racing expected to run through approximately 11:00 PM ET.

Tonight’s program is loaded with action across all class levels — from a wide-open NW $3,000 lifetime sprint for 3-year-olds in Race 1 all the way up to the $12,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Handicap in Race 5, where Blinded By Delight looks to defend her turf against a sharp field. The meet’s top driver Garrett Rooney (.320 win rate), red-hot Travis Cullen (.559 win rate), and leading trainer Jodie Cullen (.596 UTRS) are all well-represented tonight, making driver and trainer angles a key handicapping factor throughout the card.

WESTERN FAIR RACEWAY — APRIL 21, 2026 RACE CARD ANALYSIS

RACE 1 | Pace · NW $3,000 Lifetime · 3yo H&G | Purse $7,500 Probable Favourites: 1–5–2–3

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. STUMBLEANDSTAGGER (PP5) — 5-2 — Finished 2nd last out behind the top horse in this field; strong closer off a 5-2 line offers value.
  2. CHIEF HAUSER (PP1) — 8-5 — Won this exact class Apr 14 by 1¼ lengths; inside post and hot driver Rooney (.320 win rate) make him the likely chalk.
  3. NEWTOWNSTREETBOMB (PP4) — 6-1 — Two starts in this class show consistent mid-pack position with late rally; third looks realistic.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: ROSE RUN BINGO (PP2) — 3-1 — If the pace collapses early, this closer picks up the pieces; improving lines and a strong qualifier make him worth a look at a generous morning line price.

RACE 2 | Pace · Claiming $20,000 · 4yo+ H&G | Purse $7,200 Probable Favourites: 3–7–1–5

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. SWEETVIEW (PP7) — 5-2 — Won Apr 14 at 1:58.2; hot trainer Schneider (.350 win rate) and Galliers driving make this the most dangerous horse in the field.
  2. JAKES PANTHER (PP3) — 2-1 — Best overall record (5 wins in 6 starts in 2025) and sharpest lifetime speed figure (1:57.2) in the field.
  3. NIGHT TRAIN (PP1) — 3-1 — Wire-to-wire types thrive from post 1; was beaten a nose for the win last out and knows how to control from the gate.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: NUMISMATIST (PP6) — 6-1 — Has hit the board 5 times in 12 starts this year; Rooney knows this horse well and the closing style suits a pace-heavy field at a fair price.

RACE 3 | Pace · NW $12,000 or 2 Races · H&G | Purse $8,200 Probable Favourites: 3–1–4–2

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. BIG ROOSTER (PP3) — 8-5 — Back-to-back wire-to-wire wins at this track; trainer Thomson has a .851 UTRS — one of the hottest in the program.
  2. WRITELINE (PP5) — 9-2 — 2-of-8 wins and consistent board finishes at Woodbine level make this the second-best horse on class.
  3. BETTOR TALKER (PP1) — 2-1 — Best lifetime speed figure in the field (1:56.4) and drops slightly in class; trainer Haskell gives a fresh look here.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: DM BIGCATBODIE (PP6) — 8-1 — Won two starts back in this company; trainer Moore has a .393 UTRS recently and the outside post opens up ground if the front end clears quickly.

RACE 4 | Pace · F&M Claiming $8,000 | Purse $6,000 Probable Favourites: 8–1–2–3

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. GRAND CIRCUIT (PP8) — 2-1 — Won last out Apr 14 at 1:56.2 and owns the fastest lifetime figure (1:52.2) in this field by a wide margin.
  2. HEAVENS LIL DRAGON (PP1) — 5-2 — Consistent in-the-money performer with trainer Cullen (.350 win rate) and post 1 advantage for tactical control.
  3. MIGHTY MARY (PP3) — 4-1 — Two recent 2nd-place finishes and a sharp 1:57.3 closing effort last out suggest she’s ready to break through.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: STARBETS (PP7) — 10-1 — 3-of-10 wins in 2026 and trainer Core has a .287 win rate; if Grand Circuit struggles from the outside, Starbets with Lorne House could swoop late at a big price.

RACE 5 | Pace · F&M Preferred Handicap | Purse $12,500 Probable Favourites: 7–6–5–4

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. BLINDED BY DELIGHT (PP7) — 9-5 — Won last out Apr 14 at 1:55.2; fastest lifetime mark (1:51.0) in the field and the Borth–Burgess combo is tough to beat on current form.
  2. SHOOT THE WHISKEY (PP5) — 5-2 — Won 5-of-14 this year and has controlled the front in this field before; Travis Cullen (.559 win rate in 2026) is the best driver on the card.
  3. FATED FIRE (PP1) — 4-1 — Consistent second-place finisher, proven in this class and closing strongly in her last few efforts.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: SETTN A PRECEDENT (PP6) — 6-1 — Second-highest all-time earnings in the field ($421K lifetime); Galliers is 19% winners and the 8yo mare has legitimate form at exactly this level — a 6-1 shot with real class.

RACE 6 | Pace · NW $12,000 or 2 Races · H&G | Purse $8,200 Probable Favourites: 6–3–2–8

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. TWIN B BETONIT (PP6) — 8-5 — 2-of-2 wins in 2026 including a 1:57.1 effort; Cullen driving a horse the Cullen barn trains is the race’s top combination.
  2. KOMOKA KID (PP8) — 4-1 — Third last out, consistent runner-up form and Borth (.437 UDRS) gives this gelding a strong pilot.
  3. J M MAZINGAN (PP5) — 8-1 — Hits the board regularly and trainer Steward (.328 win rate) keeps this horse competitive every start.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: LOOKUP AT THE SKY (PP3) — 9-2 — Dominated his qualifier Apr 9 by over 5 lengths; if that form translates under Kennedy into a live race, he’s a legitimate surprise at this price.

RACE 7 | Pace · Claiming $9,500 · H&G | Purse $6,500 Probable Favourites: 3–1–2–4

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. THATMOMENTINLIFE (PP3) — 8-5 — 8-of-13 board finishes in 2026 including multiple wins; trainer Loyer (.481 UTRS) and Galliers is the card’s best combination in a claiming spot.
  2. ID IMAGINE (PP2) — 3-1 — Second last out and consistent 2nd/3rd finishes; Fillion riding well and the inside post is a tactical bonus.
  3. MODERN WRITER (PP4) — 4-1 — Won two starts back and was second last out; trainer Sumner (.476 UTRS) is one of the hottest in the book.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: RUREDYFORAGOODTIME (PP6) — 8-1 — Back-to-back wire-to-wire wins in April; if he leads unchallenged with Doyle up, the upset is very real at a generous price.

RACE 8 | Pace · F&M Claiming $8,000 · NW $2,000 Last 5 | Purse $5,000 Probable Favourites: 2–3–6–4

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. SNAKE EYES HANOVER (PP2) — 2-1 — Most lifetime earnings in this field ($94K) and Fillion is sharp; posting from inside gives her a clean trip and the best chance to control.
  2. RED SKY TONIGHT (PP3) — 5-2 — Two 2026 wins and trainer Leon (.313 UTRS) has this mare fit; closing speed suits the likely pace of this spot.
  3. CENTURY LUNAR (PP6) — 3-1 — Three second-place finishes in 2026; legitimate early speed and the Macdonell–Vleeming combo can place her in position early.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: SOMETHING ROYAL (PP7) — 6-1 — Her $189K lifetime figure dwarfs this field; 2-of-11 wins in 2026 understates a sharp Apr 14 effort and Sorrie can manufacture a price if pace turns hot.

RACE 9 | Pace · F&M NW $5,000 Last 3 or $7,500 Last 5 | Purse $10,400 Probable Favourites: 2–1–3–8

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. LADIES FROM HELL (PP2) — 7-5 — Won 5-of-10 starts in 2026 including last out; trainer Sumner (.476 UTRS) is the hottest in the book and Rooney is the top driver on the meet.
  2. LAURAS CRUSH (PP3) — 3-1 — 6-of-11 wins in 2026 with a 1:55.1 best; trainer Elliott (.323 UTRS) keeps her sharp and she is second on recent form.
  3. BEEP BOP A LULA (PP1) — 5-2 — Won Apr 7 at this level; trainer/driver Kelly self-trains efficiently and the inside post is a clear tactical edge.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: GET ANSWERS (PP8) — 4-1 — Her lifetime mark of 1:51.4 dwarfs this field; if she finds her early rhythm with Sorrie aboard, she is capable of stealing this at a generous price relative to her true ability.

RACE 10 | Pace · NW $2,000 Last 3 or $3,750 Last 5 · H&G | Purse $7,600 Probable Favourites: 3–5–4–2

TOP 3 CONTENDERS:

  1. JIMSUN (PP3) — 5-2 — 3-of-14 wins in 2026 with very consistent board finishes at this level; post 3 is a prime post at Western Fair (19.8% win rate historically).
  2. SPEAKDOLLARSNCENTS (PP5) — 3-1 — Won last out at this class level and trainer Loyer’s stable is red-hot (.481 UTRS over the last 20 days).
  3. MAJOR HILL (PP2) — 9-2 — $749K lifetime earner drops into a soft spot; Demers (.424 UTRS) is the meet’s top trainer and the veteran knows how to fire fresh.

LONGSHOT VALUE PLAY: ARUNDEL HANOVER (PP6) — 6-1 — 7 wins last year and a sharp Mar 31 runner-up effort; at 6-1 with Michael Horner driving, this 5yo drops in class and could wire the field.
