RACE 1 — Pace, $6,600, Claiming $20,000, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Lou Knows (4-1) — Won last out on Apr 10 going gate-to-wire, showing sharp early speed and a strong closer; Thomas Hamm barn is hitting at 25% this year.
- Outlaw Jesse James (5-2) — Consistent top-3 finisher in this class with Sorrie up, though scratched last out; capable when clean.
- Captain Eight (4-1) — Won this exact class/purse on Mar 18, Galliers driving, and has back class to compete.
- Longshot Value Play: Mountain Dancer (12-1) — Showed a sharp last quarter in his Apr 17 start and trainer Vleeming has a horse that fits the class drop; at 12-1 the price exceeds the risk.
RACE 2 — Pace, $5,500, F&M Claiming $8,000, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Betternredder (2-1) — Two wins and six thirds in 14 starts this year; Rankin trains and drives, a combo clicking at 21% wins.
- Bella (3-1) — Six wins in 2025 at 5/8 tracks, Galliers driving, Waxman barn at 17% wins and streaky; bounced back well in recent form.
- Wicked Discovery (4-1) — Five seconds in 11 starts this year, consistently close; Sorrie/Demers combo is deadly (Demers at 27.5% wins).
- Longshot Value Play: U No Peach (5-2) — Actually morning-line favorite but has been finishing poorly; flip it — Little T (9-2) has a second and third in last two, trainer Simpson improving, and at 9-2 offers real value off a qualifying effort showing sharp speed.
RACE 3 — Pace, $5,500, H&G Claiming $8,000, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Thunderbolt Run (2-1) — Two wins and three seconds in 13 starts; front-end speed, McQueen barn at 29% wins last 15 days (hottest trainer at the meet).
- Mad Man Hill (3-1) — Led wire-to-wire Apr 17 before being caught; fits the class and Bain barn is solid at this level.
- Passionate Prince (5-2) — Three thirds in last six, consistent closer; Gois up and has shown ability to close into this field.
- Longshot Value Play: Whiskey Friday (4-1) — Won at this exact class on Mar 25, Guillemette barn at 21% wins, and a good post draw could get him the rail in the first turn; price underestimates his form.
RACE 4 — Pace, $7,500, F&M N/W $3,000 Lifetime, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Redland Saphire (8-5) — Freshest filly in the field by breeding (HBG $48,611), Pentland barn at 28% wins; Sorrie driving makes this a solid top choice.
- Lady Century (2-1) — Qualified sharp on Apr 18, led most of the way; Giles barn at 42% wins (highest rate on the card), Rooney driving.
- Imperfect Circle (3-1) — Back from Hoosier Park where she competed at a higher level; Libby barn at 29% wins with Galliers up.
- Longshot Value Play: Barkie Bovino (4-1) — Wray/Bissett combo, showed improvement in her qualifier, and at 4-1 could outrun her morning line if Lady Century or Redland Saphire have issues early.
RACE 5 — Pace, $12,500, Preferred, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Silverwalls (9-5) — Nine wins in 2025, competed at Woodbine at a much higher level; qualified sharp in 1:58.2 on Apr 9; Morrissey barn and Rooney driving.
- Cheddar Bay (2-1) — Won at this level on Mar 30 and Mar 1; Core barn at 17.6% wins with Doyle up; consistent performer.
- It Takes Two (5-1) — Four wins and two seconds in 13 starts; House/McNiven a reliable combo; however, drew outside which hurts.
- Longshot Value Play: Harborlite Ambrose (4-1) — Won his last start at Flamboro on Apr 19 at 1:55.4; Andrew barn is sizzling at 32% wins; at 4-1 this is potentially the best value on the card.
RACE 6 — Pace, $6,000, F&M Claiming $8,000, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Saulsbrook Diva (8-5) — Three consecutive wins at this level; Sorrie/Demers combo (Demers at 27.5% wins); dominant front-end horse.
- Blue Star Sapphire (2-1) — Won on Mar 10 and Mar 6, Kelly trains and drives at 17.4% wins; consistent at this class.
- Timewaitsonnoone (6-1) — Won her last start Apr 14; McQueen barn is the hottest trainer at Western right now (29% wins last 15 days).
- Longshot Value Play: Wine Delight (9-2) — Four wins in 10 starts this year, McKnight trains and drives at 40% wins; drawn wide but has the form to close hard late.
RACE 7 — Trot, $6,500, N/W $1,500 Last 3, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- No One (2-1) — Two wins in 13 starts with sharp back class at 5/8 tracks; Fillion/Pereira combo and strong at this level.
- Hollow Hill Magic (5-2) — Two wins and consistent form; Galliers/Creighton, came from a sharp qualifier at WEG on Apr 11.
- Charmbo Cash (8-1) — Three wins in 14 starts; House/Elliott (Elliott at 23.7% wins); showed a sharp qualifier on Apr 9 in 2:03.2.
- Longshot Value Play: Billie Jean Queen (3-1) — Won her qualifier on Apr 18 wire-to-wire; Mayhew/Kerr combo, and if she gets the front she could last; technically morning line isn’t 6-1 but her lack of recent race experience makes her a true unknown.
RACE 8 — Pace, $5,000, F&M Claiming $8,000, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Inukshuk Sally (2-1) — Seven wins in 2025, fits the class; House/Libby reliable combo at this level with a second in her last start.
- Watch Her Fly (4-1) — One win and two seconds in 13 starts; Wray/McEachern and came within a head of winning Mar 13.
- Gracie T (9-5 but moved to Race 10) — Note: Gracie T appears in both cards; Allstar Finest fills here — McNiven barn hot, second and two wins in last 13, MacD driving.
- Longshot Value Play: Dirtiest Piglet (10-1) — Finished second on Mar 31 at this exact class; Bain barn improving; at 10-1 any gate trip could translate into a surprise finish.
RACE 9 — Pace, $6,500, H&G N/W $1,500 Last 3, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Tuukka Rasp (5-2) — Qualified on Apr 18 showing solid back class with $110,904 lifetime; Macdonell/Kerr, and fits the class off the qualifier.
- Pebble Beach Pro (3-1) — Two wins in 13 starts; McNiven barn hot at 20.8% wins with Rooney up; won this class on Mar 13.
- Max Shadow (7-2) — Won on Mar 13 at this class; House trains and drives at 9.9% wins but his personal horses run better — won at 3-1 in last start.
- Longshot Value Play: Hollywood Deo (8-1) — Finished fourth in his last start showing a strong move; Schneider barn at 11.2% wins and at 8-1 price is generous for a horse with $69K in earnings at higher levels.
RACE 10 — Pace, $6,500, F&M N/W $1,500 Last 3, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Gracie T (9-5) — Four wins in 13 starts; Duford barn at 18% wins with Doyle up; two consecutive wins including a sharp 1:57.3 on Apr 14.
- Furiosa (4-1) — Two wins and three seconds in eight starts; Leon barn at 17.1% wins; front-speed horse who controls pace well.
- Riskofthunderstorm (3-1) — Four wins in 8 starts this year; Kennedy barn at 10.7% wins, Kelly driving at 15.2%; sharp closer.
- Longshot Value Play: Odds On Selenium (12-1) — Three wins in 13 starts this year; Rose barn and won at this class on Mar 13 and Mar 16; at 12-1 the price far exceeds her demonstrated ability to win.
RACE 11 — Pace, $10,400, H&G N/W $5,000 Last 3, 1 Mile Top 3 Contenders:
- Docsphillycheese (8-5) — Won last out on Apr 7 at this class; Kennedy barn at 10.7% wins but this horse is clearly the form horse; Rooney up.
- Atlas Hanover (2-1) — Third in three of last four; Demers barn (hottest trainer at 27.5% wins) with Sorrie up; front-speed horse.
- Scratchin An Itch (4-1) — Four wins in 11 starts; McNiven barn (hot at 20.8%) with House driving; won clearly on Mar 17.
- Longshot Value Play: Nova Scotia Strong (8-1) — Won on Feb 13 at this class; Moore trains and drives at 20% wins, a value combo; has been unlucky in traffic and at 8-1 the price reflects his recent form rather than his
