Pepsi NA Cup Elim Night |Selections-Sat June 6,2026

8 min read

Welcome to one of the most loaded Saturday night cards of the 2026 standardbred season at Woodbine Mohawk Park in Campbellville, Ontario. Thirteen races packed with North America’s finest horses make tonight a must-watch for harness racing fans everywhere.

The centerpiece of the evening is a pair of Pepsi North America Cup XLIII Eliminations in Races 7 and 9, where the top five finishers from each heat punch their ticket to next Saturday’s $1,000,000 Grade 1 Final. The spotlight shines brightest on the unbeaten Beau Jangles, who brings a perfect fifteen-for-fifteen record into Race 9 after sweeping both the Metro Pace and the Breeders Crown last year. He faces Grade 3 winner Brandon Blvd, the record-setting Odds On Mr Mamba, and Burke brigade entries Al Papi and Melillo in what promises to be the race of the night.

The fillies are equally compelling across three Fan Hanover Eliminations in Races 2, 4 and 6, headlined by the unbeaten Be Perfect BG, Breeders Crown champion Loua Dipa, nine-from-ten sensation A Clean Deal, and Kentucky standout Topville Lucky — all chasing a spot in the $420,000 Fan Hanover Final.

The older mare division delivers in two Roses Are Red Eliminations in Races 8 and 10, featuring the highly anticipated comeback of $3.4 million earner Twin B Joe Fresh against the red-hot Louies Girl N, while Breeders Crown heroine Miki And Minnie and the explosive The Last Martini clash in Race 10.

Race 5 brings out Dan Patch Award winner Ervin Hanover, holder of the Canadian Record at 1:46-2, making his 2026 debut in what is widely expected to be a sharp tuneup ahead of next week’s Mohawk Gold Cup.

The $75,000 Guaranteed Early Pick 5 fires in Race 1, the $0.20 Pick 6 begins in Race 4, and the Late Pick 5 launches in Race 6 — delivering outstanding wagering opportunities across the entire card.

Don’t forget — next Saturday June 13th is FREE ADMISSION for the $1,000,000 Pepsi North America Cup Final right here at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

LONGSHOT: #9 LEGION SEELSTER — 15-1 | Won at this class level two starts ago; Daryl Thiessen takes over and the Puddy barn has been patient pointing this gelding.

RACE 2 — FAN HANOVER ELIMINATION | 3-YEAR-OLD FILLIES | PURSE: $35,000

#2 TOPVILLE LUCKY — 3-5 | Six for six lifetime including a Grand Circuit win; adds Lasix today which explains her lone poor performance in her sophomore debut.

#3 SILVERWALLS — 9-2 | Massive effort last week pacing a 1:21-flat three-quarter fraction before being caught wide; Tyler Borth has him rolling and he figures as a big speed threat.

#6 FIRE CONTROL — 15-1 | Three wins in his last six starts and led every step two starts back; Travis Henry is underrated and the Frey barn has a 25% ROI with him.

LONGSHOT: #10 MAJOR THREAT — 10-1 | Disqualified after a strong effort last week following a wheel-locking incident; should be completely overlooked on the board and adds value to exotics.

#6 BE PERFECT BG — 4-5 | Eight for eight lifetime and draws the best post; wins both on the lead and stalking and Dexter Dunn knows this filly inside out.

#2 GALA — 9-2 | Five wins from seven starts with two seconds in the other two; a sharp daughter of Downbytheseaside who draws second and Bartlett is a strong upgrade.

LONGSHOT: #7 SHACARRI — 15-1 | Finished second in the Hackett at Mvr earlier this season; Ronnie Wrenn Jr drives and the Burke barn rarely ships horses without a reason.

RACE 5 — OPEN | PURSE: $40,000

RACE 6 — FAN HANOVER ELIMINATION | 3-YEAR-OLD FILLIES | PURSE: $35,000

#1 DAYA — 8-1 | Won her last OSS start in track-record conditions; Jody Jamieson and John Darling are a combined 33% together and she draws the inside tonight.

LONGSHOT: #7 FABULOUS HANOVER — 15-1 | Grand Circuit winner here in the Champlain Stakes last year; only needs a top-four finish to advance and Louis-Philippe Roy fires her forward.

#6 SWEET LOVIN LOU — 9-5 | Gets the best post, James Macdonald drives aggressively, and he paced a 53-flat back half against sharp older pacers two starts ago.

#5 AL PAPI — 7-2 | Yannick Gingras keeps the mount on this Burke colt who has been given three quiet prep starts; three losses without really being asked suggests he is ready now.

#7 NO WAITLIST — 5-1 | Three strong back-to-back-to-back efforts and McNair chose him over the #2 horse tonight; aggressive front-end horse who should grab a share.

LONGSHOT: #3 AZRAEL BLUE CHIP — 8-1 | Seven wins from twelve lifetime starts and hit the board in all four races this year; adds Lasix tonight and Andrew McCarthy is a capable reinsman.

RACE 8 — ROSES ARE RED ELIMINATION | FILLIES & MARES | PURSE: $35,000

#7 BEAU JANGLES — 4-5 | Fifteen for fifteen lifetime including the Metro Pace and Breeders Crown; three wins this year without being pressed but faces his stiffest test tonight.

#4 ODDS ON MR MAMBA — 7-2 | Eight from nine lifetime and the fastest two-year-old in history at 1:47-4; James Macdonald replaces Dexter Dunn which is a strong late driver switch.

LONGSHOT: #1 GENTLEMANS CLUB — 15-1 | Won the Governors Cup last November and has finished second in his last three starts; Andrew McCarthy/Aaron Lambert are a quietly effective combo.

RACE 10 — ROSES ARE RED ELIMINATION | FILLIES & MARES | PURSE: $35,000

#5 MIKI AND MINNIE — 7-5 | Thirteen wins from fifteen starts last year and a Breeders Crown co-winner right here at Mohawk; her only loss this season was to Louies Girl who got a perfect lead trip.

#4 TALK CURDY TO ME — 10-1 | Has three consecutive in-the-money finishes and Roy takes over tonight; drew the nightmare second-tier post in the Camluck which explains her last result.

LONGSHOT: #2 THE LAST MARTINI — 3-1 | Dead-heat winner in the Breeders Crown here at 68-1 last year with McNair driving; gets back to Mohawk Park away from the smaller Oak Grove track she has been struggling on.

LONGSHOT: #4 DAD — 7-2 | Good freshman campaign and qualified well this week in 1:53-4 wire-to-wire; Mark MacDonald and Dr. Ian Moore are a dangerous combination and this horse races well fresh.

RACE 12 — NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS | PURSE: $16,000

#4 LIVINTHEBEACHLIFE — 9-2 | Four wins in ten starts this year and dominant last week making a swift 54-flat move to the lead; steps up one level but is clearly at peak fitness.

#9 PREMIER FIRST STAR — 8-1 | Won wire-to-wire last out in 1:52-flat in dominant fashion; Travis Cullen/Jodie Cullen is the most prolific combo at WEG and he steps up with confidence.
