New York Giants vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction, Odds & Betting Preview
The New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams close out Week 2 with a Monday Night Football matchup at SoFi Stadium.
These teams enter Monday night from opposite directions. New York opened its season with an encouraging 28-20 victory over Dallas, while Los Angeles is trying to regroup following a 27-7 loss to San Francisco in Melbourne.
It would be easy to put too much weight on those results. The Giants certainly deserve credit for their performance, but one strong game does not necessarily establish them as a substantially improved team. The same principle applies to the Rams. Los Angeles looked poor in its opener, but there is enough experience and talent on this roster to expect a better performance at home.
The more intriguing betting question may not be which team wins, but how many points they combine to score.

Giants vs. Rams Betting Odds
The betting market has moved since the opening numbers, with Los Angeles remaining a clear favorite.
The Rams have been priced around a touchdown favorite, while the total has generally been sitting in the 47.5 to 48-point range.
For this handicap, the number I’m targeting is:
Best Bet: Under 48
The spread is more difficult to attack. Los Angeles has a significant home-field and overall roster advantage, but laying a full touchdown or more with a team coming off a seven-point offensive performance isn’t especially appealing.
The total presents the better opportunity.
New York Giants Betting Preview
The Giants couldn’t have asked for a much better start.
New York defeated Dallas 28-20 while accumulating 394 yards of offense. The Giants ran for 165 yards and were excellent on third down, converting nine of their 11 opportunities.
That third-down performance was a major reason they were able to control the football for extended periods.
Quarterback Jaxson Dart gave New York an effective combination of passing and rushing production. He threw three touchdown passes and also contributed 54 yards on the ground.
That mobility could be important against Los Angeles.
When protection breaks down, Dart doesn’t necessarily need to force the football into coverage. He can escape the pocket, pick up yards himself and keep drives alive. That creates an additional concern for a Rams defense that had problems getting off the field consistently in Week 1.
Cam Skattebo Gives New York Offensive Balance
The Giants aren’t completely dependent on their quarterback.
Cam Skattebo rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown against Dallas and helped New York establish the kind of offensive balance that could become particularly valuable Monday night.
New York doesn’t need to turn this into a shootout to have a chance.
Establishing Skattebo, allowing Dart to use his legs and converting manageable third downs could help the Giants run significant time off the clock.
That style of football also fits nicely with an Under wager.
The concern is assuming New York can duplicate its Week 1 efficiency.
Going 9-for-11 on third down is outstanding, but expecting that conversion rate every week would be unrealistic. The Giants were also highly efficient when opportunities developed near the end zone.
Some offensive regression would hardly be surprising.
Malik Nabers Gives Dart a No. 1 Target
One of the most encouraging developments for New York was the return of Malik Nabers.
Coming back from the serious knee injury that ended his 2025 season, Nabers caught six passes for 69 yards against Dallas and enters this matchup without a Week 2 injury designation.
His presence changes the Giants’ passing attack.
Los Angeles cannot focus entirely on containing Dart’s mobility and stopping Skattebo. Nabers gives the Giants a receiver capable of challenging the secondary at different levels of the field.
Isaiah Likely also made an immediate impact in Week 1, catching eight passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Those weapons give Dart legitimate options, but New York’s most effective approach Monday may still involve controlling possession rather than trying to trade explosive plays with Matthew Stafford.
Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview
Los Angeles has plenty to correct.
The Rams produced only 290 total yards against San Francisco, managing 168 yards through the air and 122 on the ground.
More importantly, they finished with only seven points.
For an offense led by Matthew Stafford, that simply isn’t good enough.
The situation becomes especially interesting because Los Angeles entered the season with extremely high expectations. One bad performance in Australia doesn’t erase those expectations, but bettors shouldn’t simply dismiss what happened either.
The Rams now get to return to SoFi Stadium, where a response should be expected.
The question is whether that response means scoring 30-plus points or simply playing a cleaner and more efficient game.
For the Under, the second scenario is preferable.
Matthew Stafford Needs a Bounce-Back Performance
Stafford remains the biggest reason to be cautious about betting an Under.
An experienced quarterback operating at home against a Giants secondary dealing with injuries creates the potential for a major offensive rebound.
However, Los Angeles also has injury concerns surrounding its receiving corps.
That makes it difficult to assume the Rams will suddenly go from seven points in Week 1 to an offensive explosion Monday night.
Los Angeles could instead lean on a more controlled offensive approach, establish the running game and put Stafford in favorable down-and-distance situations.
If that happens, the Rams may control the matchup without necessarily producing the type of scoring required to push the game Over 48.
Giants vs. Rams Injury Report
Injuries have become an important component of this handicap, particularly for Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Rams Injuries
Myles Garrett: Out
Myles Garrett will miss Monday night’s game because of a knee issue that requires surgery and a stint on injured reserve.
That’s a major defensive absence.
Without Garrett, the Rams lose an important component of their pass rush and a defender who would have been especially useful against Dart’s ability to escape the pocket.
Los Angeles will need to manufacture pressure elsewhere while also maintaining enough discipline to prevent Dart from breaking contain.
Puka Nacua: Questionable
Puka Nacua is one of the most important names to monitor before kickoff.
The Rams receiver is questionable with a hip issue after sitting out the final two practices of the week.
His availability could have a direct impact on the total.
If Nacua plays and is close to full strength, Stafford has another major weapon against an injured New York secondary. If Nacua cannot play or is limited, the Rams’ ability to consistently create explosive passing plays takes a hit.
Jordan Whittington: Doubtful
Jordan Whittington is dealing with a quadriceps injury and is doubtful.
Whittington’s situation becomes more important because of the uncertainty surrounding Nacua. Being without one receiver is manageable. Losing multiple options from Stafford’s receiving rotation begins to change the offensive equation.
Kamren Kinchens: Out
Safety Kamren Kinchens has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
That removes another contributor from a Rams defense already dealing with the loss of Garrett.
Other Rams Injuries
Kam Curl has been working through an ankle issue, while Nate Landman has been dealing with a shoulder problem.
Omar Speights has also appeared on the injury report with a hip issue but improved enough to finish the practice week as a full participant.
Davante Adams received routine rest earlier in the week before returning to full practice participation.
Aaron Donald also received a rest designation rather than being listed with an injury concern.
New York Giants Injuries
New York’s most notable injury questions are primarily on defense.
Deonte Banks: Questionable
Cornerback Deonte Banks is questionable because of a calf injury.
His condition is particularly important considering the opponent. Even if Los Angeles is missing or limited at receiver, Stafford remains capable of identifying and attacking weaknesses in a secondary.
If Banks cannot play, New York’s depth at cornerback will be tested.
Micah McFadden: Questionable
Linebacker Micah McFadden is questionable with a neck injury after being limited during preparations for Monday night.
His availability could become important against a Los Angeles offense that may emphasize running the football and shorter, possession-oriented passing concepts.
Andrew Thomas
Andrew Thomas has been working through an ankle issue but does not carry a game-status designation.
That’s significant for New York.
Keeping Dart protected is important, but Thomas’ presence also helps a Giants rushing attack that could become central to the game plan.
Malik Nabers
One important piece of good news is Malik Nabers.
After returning from last season’s knee injury and playing against Dallas, New York’s top receiver does not carry a Week 2 injury designation.
Giants vs. Rams Betting Trends
There are several historical trends worth considering:
- Los Angeles is 7-3 ATS in its previous 10 home games.
- The Rams are 7-3 ATS across their previous 10 games as a home favorite.
- Los Angeles is 6-4 ATS in its previous 10 games overall.
- The Rams are a perfect 6-0 ATS in their previous six games immediately following a loss.
- New York is 6-0 ATS in its previous six games against the Rams in Los Angeles.
- The Rams are 7-3 ATS across their previous 10 games against NFC opponents.
- Los Angeles is 7-3 ATS in its previous 10 games when favored by seven or more points.
- The Over has cashed in each of the Rams’ previous six Week 2 games.
There are competing signals here.
Several ATS trends support Los Angeles, but New York’s history when visiting the Rams points strongly in the opposite direction.
That’s another reason I prefer staying away from the spread.
Key to the Game: Possession
The pace of this matchup could determine the outcome of the Under.
New York demonstrated against Dallas that it can sustain long drives. The Giants ran effectively, converted third downs and kept their offense on the field.
If they can accomplish something similar at SoFi Stadium, every extended New York possession reduces Stafford’s opportunities.
The Rams may also have reason to play somewhat conservatively.
After last week’s offensive problems, Los Angeles doesn’t necessarily need to chase explosive plays immediately. Establishing the running game and allowing Stafford to operate from favorable situations could be the more logical approach.
Two offenses willing to run the football and consume clock would be exactly what Under bettors want.
Why Under 48 Is the Best Bet
There are several reasons to prefer the total instead of choosing a side.
Rams Offense Has Something to Prove
Los Angeles scored seven points in Week 1.
A major improvement should be expected, particularly at home, but bettors still need evidence before assuming the Rams are ready to produce 30 or more.
A final score in the mid-20s for Los Angeles is entirely reasonable.
Giants Can Shorten the Game
New York’s 165 rushing yards against Dallas cannot be ignored.
Skattebo gives the Giants a conventional running threat, while Dart adds another dimension with his legs.
If the Giants can consistently gain four or five yards instead of hunting for explosive plays, drives get longer and the clock continues moving.
Rams Receiving Injuries Matter
Nacua being questionable and Whittington being doubtful can’t be overlooked.
The Giants have their own secondary concerns, so Stafford certainly has an opportunity to make plays. But Los Angeles may not have its complete collection of receiving options available.
Week 1 Efficiency Could Regress
New York’s remarkable third-down success against Dallas helped sustain multiple scoring opportunities.
Rather than assuming the Giants will continue converting third downs at that exceptional rate, I’m expecting some natural regression.
That could mean more punts and fewer scoring possessions.
Giants vs. Rams Final Prediction
Los Angeles deserves to be favored.
The Rams are at home, possess an experienced quarterback and should play with considerable urgency after an embarrassing opening-week result.
But winning and covering are two different things.
New York demonstrated enough offensive balance against Dallas to suggest the Giants can make this competitive. Dart gives them an additional dimension with his mobility, Skattebo can help control possession and Nabers provides a legitimate receiving threat.
I expect the Rams to look considerably better than they did in Melbourne, but I don’t necessarily expect an offensive eruption.
Instead, look for Los Angeles to play a more efficient game, protect its defense and gradually establish control in the second half.
New York should move the football, but duplicating its extraordinary Week 1 third-down efficiency is asking a lot.
That combination points toward a Rams victory in a relatively competitive, lower-scoring Monday Night Football matchup.
Model Projection
Los Angeles Rams 24, New York Giants 20
Projected Total: 44 points
The Bet: Giants vs. Rams Under 48
- Recommended Bet: Under 48
- Model Win Probability: 55.0%
- Implied Probability of Bet: 51.22%
- Model Edge: 3.78%
- Odds Playable To: -122
- Betting Confidence: 68/100
- Projected Score: Rams 24, Giants 20
- Projected Total: 44
Best Bet: UNDER 48
The Rams should respond to their Week 1 loss, but they don’t need an offensive explosion to beat New York. The Giants’ ability to run the football and maintain possession gives them a path to staying competitive while also shortening the game.
With uncertainty surrounding key Los Angeles receivers, potential regression from New York’s exceptional Week 1 third-down performance and a projected total of 44 points, Under 48 is the strongest betting angle in this Monday Night Football matchup.
Final Prediction: Rams 24, Giants 20
Best Bet: Under 48
