Weekend Betting Preview – March the biggest month of the year

4 min read

The calendar has turned the page to March to mark the start of the biggest month of the year for betting on college basketball at BetAnySports. This weekend features the final round of games in the regular season. However, the madness starts early for several conferences with their annual tournament including an early start in the Big Ten.

The NBA offers some great betting action over the next few days at basketball’s professional level and the NHL fills in the gap with the next installment of its Coors Light Stadium Series on Saturday. The Toronto Maple Leafs will square off against the Washington Capitals at the US Naval Academy in an 8 p.m. start on NBC.

The PGA Tour takes a break from its current Florida swing with this weekend’s World Golf Championships event in Mexico City. NASCAR’s Cup Series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the start of its West Coast Swing with the running of the Pennzoil 400 this Sunday on FOX starting at 3:30 p.m. The betting board at BetAnySports is also filled with soccer, horse racing, boxing and MMA fighting as the best online sportsbook for US Players.

One of the top matchups on Friday night’s NBA schedule as part of an ESPN doubleheader is an Eastern Conference clash between the Toronto Raptors and the Washington Wizards as a warm-up for Saturday’s hockey game. Tip off is set for 8 p.m. with Toronto boasting a straight-up 9-1 run in its last 10 games. Later that night in a 10:30 p.m. start, the Minnesota Timberwolves go on the road to face the Utah Jazz in a Northwest Division showdown.

The highlight of Saturday’s college basketball schedule is Round 2 between the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels and the No. 5 Duke Blue Devils in the ACC. The Tar Heels drew first blood in this bitter in-state rivalry with an 82-78 victory on Feb.8 as slight 1.5-point home favorites with BetAnySports. Tip off for Saturday’s rematch at Duke is set for 8:15 p.m. on ESPN.

The college basketball regular season closes things down Sunday with an AAC showdown between the No. 10 Cincinnati Bearcats and the No. 11 Wichita Shockers in a 12 p.m. tip on CBS. Also on the slate at CBS at 4:30 p.m. is the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game from Madison Square Garden.

Betting Odds on the Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies lineup is going to be dangerous this season. Not only do they have mainstays like Maikel Franco, Odubel Herrera, and Cesar Hernandez but they have some young guns coming into their own. Rhys Hoskins came up for 50 games last year and tore the cover off the ball. He hit 18 HRs and had 1.014 OPS. After being drafted in the fifth round in 2014, Hoskins had over 1,900 plate appearances in the minors to hone his craft. When he got his call, he did not disappoint. Hoskins will be moving to left field this year after the signing of Carlos Santana. He showed up early for camp to get in extra work in the outfield. Even with learning a new position added to his plate, Hoskins’ bat should not suffer. After hitting 47 HRs and 139 RBI combined between triple AAA and the majors last year, there is no doubt he can hit. Read More
