The #6 seed Lions lost a golden opportunity last week on Sunday Night Football against the Packers to not only win their first division title since 1993, but to host only their third playoff game since 1957. Now the star-crossed Lions have to travel to one of the toughest places to play in modern NFL history at Century Link Field in the Emerald City of Seattle.

The good news for Lions fans is Seattle has issues of its own and is definitely not the vintage Seahawks bunch that it has been for the better party of the last 5 years.

That gives this Detroit team an opening as they have one of the best QB’s in the league this year in Matthew Stafford, although he is banged up with a middle finger injury that has hurt his effectiveness as of late. The Hawks have a hell of a QB of their own in Russell “The Love Muscle” Wilson, who acts has both a QB and staunch RB at the same time.

This game is going to come down to which QB can be the best player on the field between the two teams and whether or not the Lions defense can hold Seattle to under 20 points. If both boxes are checked off in Detroit’s favor, they will have a great chance to win this game outright. Regardless 8 points is a ton in an NFL Playoff game and I see no reason to think the Lions won’t at worst just keep this close. Load up on Detroit and expect a tight low scoring game until the final possession.
