Weekly Betting Update – MLB Who is Hot and Who Is Not
The boys of summer take center stage with sports bettors the next few months at BetAnySports as the best online sportsbook for US players. The MLB regular season is starting to warm up with the weather with tight races in all six divisions. The team at the top of the list in the American League is still the New York Yankees at 42-19 through the weekend’s action. The Milwaukee Brewers have the best record in the National League at 39-26.
The longest active winning streak in the Majors heading into this week’s action belongs to the defending champion Houston Astros. They are in a tooth and nail battle with Seattle for first place in the AL West at 42-25 after winning their last five games. The Mariners are 41-24 overall after winning eight of their last 10 games. The Los Angeles Angels are also in the mix at 37-29 after winning seven of their last nine games.
The AL East Division race between the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox has also remained tight in what has quickly turned into a two-team tilt. Boston dropped three of its last four games to drop to 44-22 overall, which is still the most wins of any MLB team. The Red Sox are 23-11 at home with a 21-11 record on the road. The Yankees are 8-2 over their last 10 games after taking two of three against the New York Mets in the weekend Subway Series.
The Cleveland Indians have the largest lead in any of the division races at 34-29 in the AL Central. Detroit is five games back at 31-36. The Indians extended their lead by taking two of three from the Tigers on the road this weekend. They kick off a 13-game stretch against division opponents this Monday night with Game 1 of an extended four-game road strip against the Chicago White Sox.
The Washington Nationals (36-27) and the Atlanta Braves (37-28) remain at the top of the NL East, while the Milwaukee Brewers cling to a half game lead over the Chicago Cubs, who have won 11 of their last 14 games to move to 37-25 overall. The Cubs and Brewers will battle it out this week in three games in Milwaukee starting on Monday night.
Only 5.5 games separate the first-place Arizona Diamondbacks (35-29) and the last-place San Diego Padres (31-36) in the highly competitive NL West. The San Francisco Giants are the hottest team right now in that division at 8-2 over their last 10 games.
