I want you to consider that the Pistons are coming off a shocking loss to a Miami heat team that had lost 6 in a row. Detroit allowed Miami to score 88 points. Now giving up 88 points for most teams would be good news, however, for the defensive-oriented Detroit squad, that is actually bad news. It seems that the Pistons are starting to lose some of their defensive intensity of late, as they have been relying too much on Ben Wallace in the paint. The Knicks are coming off a game where they netted 98 points. Allan Houston’s 26-point effort was no big shock. However, Kurt Thomas’s third straight “double-double” (24 pts and 13 boards) does come as a bit of a shock. Another shocking development has been the production out of the Knicks bench lately.
