An ultra important late season Big Ten battle lifts off from Crisler Center on Thursday night as the Michigan Wolverines look to further build their tournament resume as the Badgers look to continue to improve their seeding.

Michigan has been extremely up and down at times this season, but right now are on a huge up swing. They have won two in a row, including a 29 point lambasting of bitter rival Michigan State, and their first true road win this season and only the second win in the last 17 years at Indiana last time out.

Wisky comes off a tough at home to Northwestern and knows they need to finish the season strong if they want to be a top 4 seed in the NCAA basketball tourney. The Badgers are good enough to shut down and beat anyone in the country and have shown that for years, but lately they have simply looked very beatable at times.

These two teams always seem to play close, down to the wire type of games and this one should be no different. It is going to come down to Michigan’s ability to move the ball against that tough Badgers D and if players like Mo Wagner and Derrick Walton Jr. can come up big for the Wolverines like they have lately in their big wins.

I see this as being back and forth the whole way with neither team garnering a lead larger than 8 to 10 points. It is going to come down to Michigan’s ability to drain the three, which has been murder for opponents as of late. Look for the home crowd to provide a big boost and for Michigan to keep things rolling against a good Wisconsin team, further pushing them into the field of 68 in March.
